Community Service
I love volunteering in any capacity.
Boys and Girls Club
I’ve volunteered as a camp counselor, and I co-founded the Halloween event; I love seeing how my efforts provide local children with comfort, support, and fun.
Workers’ Rights in Chicago Network Heart Project
I learned about the complex labor rights history in Chicago, from Jane Addams to the Catholic Workers’ House, where I served meals and engaged with their guests. I appreciated learning about the intense battles people fought to establish labor rights, and the union organizers spearheading current initiatives.
Operation Gratitude
I handmade lifesaving bracelets for active military service members and delivered care packages to firefighters. I love the feeling of showing support for those who put their lives on the line to protect our country and our communities everyday.
Tutoring
I offer free tutoring services to my classmates and members of the Boys and Girls Club, so everyone has the opportunity to get help, and because I love teaching!
Dyslexia Research
After my work with CogniLens, a start-up focused on reading solutions for students with dyslexia, I created an interactive tool to help dyslexic students build individualized learning profiles to share with their teachers, along with my favorite resources and study tips. To help students in my community, I’ve shared this platform with my school’s learning specialist, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Salvation Army’s KROC center for children.
